The South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission has recently released the 2017 maximum weekly compensation rate. The maximum compensation rate for 2017 is capped at $806.92. This means that any injured workers' compensation rate that would calculate to be higher than this amount will automatically be capped at the maximum rate. The South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission resets the maximum compensation rate each year to adjust for various factors such as inflation and economic growth. The new compensation rate will apply to all injuries occuring on or after January 1, 2017.
